Señaleros en Praga - PRG


ANS: Air Navigation Institute of Czech Republic es una empresa pública creada en 1995. Siguiendo instrucciones del Ministerio de Transporte de C.R., ANS facilita servicios públicos de aviación y tráfico aéreo en la República Checa, gestionando además los aeropuertos de Prague Ruzyne, Brno Turany, Ostrava Mosnov y Karlovy Vary. La sociedad anónima Prague Airport (Letiště Praha) fue fundada en febrero de 2008, tras la transformación de privatización de la empresa estatal Správa Letiště Praha, s. p. Desde 2011 su único accionista es la sociedad anónima Český Aeroholding.

Checoslovaquia fue un país pionero en Europa en aviación civil, iniciando sus operaciones en 1919, hasta que en 1937 se inauguró el aeropuerto Civil Estatal de Ruzyně, que en 2012 fue rebautizado como Aeropuerto Václav Havel de Praga, en honor al primer presidente posterior a la Revolución Terciopelo, Václav Havel, que tuvo el cargo de presidente de Checoslovaquia y luego de la República Checa y que falleció en 2011.


Es el aeropuerto de mayor tráfico aéreo de la República Checa y, de toda Europa Central y Este.

El aeropuerto está dividido en 2 Terminales Norte (la más común: No Schengen e intercontinentales) y 2 Terminales Sur (para vuelos especiales y aviación privada), desde donde cerca de 15000 empleados (2000 de la Sociedad Praga Airport) dan servicio a cerca de 12 millones de pasajeros cada año.

El aeropuerto tiene dos pistas en servicio.

Aeropuerto de Praga colabora con el Ministerio de Hacienda y el Ministerio de Transporte de la República Checa, la Autoridad de Aviación Civil, el control del tráfico aéreo de la República Checa, compañías aéreas, autoridades públicas, etc.

ANS of CR es la empresa responsable de la aproximación y servicios de aeródromo de Praga, por lo tanto, responsable del departamente de controladores de movimiento en superficie, a través de los servicios de Navegación Aérea de la República Checa, por lo tanto, los Señaleros son contratados por los servicios de Navegación Aérea.

Para ser un Señalero es necesario:

  • Un nivel intermedio de Inglés
  • Permiso de conducción
  • No tener pasado criminal (certificado de penales)
  • Pasar una formación especial y un examen.

La formación puede durar entorno a los 6 meses. Además, se debe tener mucha suerte, ya que en Praga solo hay 12 Señaleros que normalmente solo dejan la ocupación cuando se jubilan.

Los turnos: normalmente trabajan 3 Señaleros durante el turno de día y 2 durante el turno de noche, en turnos de unas 10-12 horas.

Funciones: básicamente es el control del movimiento en superficie del área de maniobras:

  • Guiado de las llegadas a los stands sin guia de atraque
  • Guiado de las llegadas en caso de error de la guia de atraque
  • Guiado de todas las llegadas durante los procedimientos de baja visibilidad (guido de las salidas bajo petición)
  • Guiado de aeronaves por zonas donde se estén realizando obras
  • Cualquier asistencia necesitada o requerida por una tripulación o la torre

Estas otras funciones son realizadas por personal del Aeropuerto:
  • Medición de las condiciones de rozamiento de la pista
  • Revisión de pistas: son responsables de la limpieza y retirada de cualquier objeto o FOD.

Marshallers in Prague - PRG


ANS: Air Navigation Institute of Czech Republic is a public corporation established in 1995. Following instructions from the Ministry of Transportation CR, ANS provides public services and air traffic aviation in the Czech Republic, besides managing the Prague airport Ruzyne, Brno Turany, Ostrava Mosnov and Karlovy Vary airports. The corporation Prague Airport (Letiště Praha) was founded in February 2008, after the transformation of privatization of state-owned Správa Letiště Praha, s. p. Since 2011, its sole shareholder is the corporation Český Aeroholding.

Czechoslovakia was a pioneer in civil aviation in Europe and began operations in 1919, until in 1937 was inaugurated the State Civil Ruzyně Airport, which in 2012 was renamed Vaclav Havel in Prague Airport, named after the first president after the Velvet Revolution: Vaclav Havel, who took over as president of Czechoslovakia and then the Czech Republic and died in 2011.

Prague Airport is busiest in the Czech Republic and in Central and Eastern Europe.

The airport is divided into 2 North Terminals (most common: No Schengen and intercontinental) and 2 South Terminals (for special and private aviation flights), where nearly 15,000 employees (2000 Prague Airport Company) serving near 12 million passengers each year.
The airport has two runways in service.

Prague Airport is working with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, the Civil Aviation Authority, the air traffic control in the Czech Republic, airlines, public authorities, etc.

ANS of CR as the resposible for approach and aerodrom services at Prague, also responsible for Surface movement controllers department.

Providing surface movement control is the  responsibility of Air navigations services of the Czech republic, so the marshallers are contracted by an air navigation services provider.

To be a marshaller you must have:

  • Intermediate English knowledge
  • Driving licence
  • No criminal past
  • Pass the special training and exam

The special training takes about 6 months. And last but not least, you have to be lucky, because there are only 12 marshallers at Prague and they leave the unit only in case of retairement.

The shifts: usually there are 3 marshalles on day shift and 2 on night shift. Length of shift is 10-12 hour.

Functions: basic function is to provide surface movement control on manouvrig area:

  • Guidance of arrivals on stands without docking
  • Guidance of arrivasl in case of docking failure
  • Guidance of all arrivals during Low visibility procedures (guidance of departures on request)
  • Guidance of aicraft along working areas
  • Any assistance which is needed or requested from crew or tower

These other functions are made by Airport Staff:
  • Measuring the RWY conditions
  • Runways inspections (responsible for cleanliness of the RWY and the remove any object or FOD).
